2021 Race Day Busing Details

Busing will be offered to our Chequamegon 40 riders ONLY from the finish (the Cheq 40 finish line location) in Cable, WI to the Cheq 40 start line in downtown Hayward, WI. Buses will continuously run from 7:45am to 8:45am, with the first bus leaving at 7:45am and the last bus leaving at 8:45am. Whenever a bus fills up, it will depart for Hayward and the next empty bus will be ready to be loaded with riders.

If you are going to utilize the bus service, we recommend that Cheq 40 riders drive to the start line in Hayward, put their bike in the start line corrals, then drive their vehicle to the American Birkebeiner Trailhead (the finish line location) with everything they’ll need for after the race (change of clothes, towel, wallet, phone, etc.), park their vehicle there, then get on the bus that takes them back to the start line. That way, your bike will be at the start line and your vehicle will already be at the finish line so that after the race you can leave the event whenever you’d like, instead of waiting for a shuttle bus to take you back to the start line after the event.

Short & Fat riders do not need to worry about the shuttle buses at all. The start and finish line for the Short & Fat is the same place.  Short & Fat riders can drive to the start/finish line on race morning and park your vehicle in the parking areas there and then walk to the start line with your bike/ride to the start line.

For parking area details, see our parking page here.

If you are already registered for the Chequamegon 40 but did not purchase a bus pass during registration, you can still purchase a pass by emailing our Registration Chief, Treva Worrel.

With any other questions, contact Treva Worrel.
